20th-century Practices in the 21st century

Jacob, you are underscoring the most important aspect, facet, dimension of online learning. It is time. People go online as a rule because of time constraints, time pressures. Organizations that work with persons under time pressures need to be available 24x7, as you point out. The online students and faculty do not take off on the weekends or at night. I have a bank in Wisconsin that has yet to learn this lesson. Tomorrow, I need to call its tech support desk - on its timelines, not mine. In short, if you get into the 21st century online do it right if you want to be competitive, survive, prosper.
