Wild Cards and Networking

Melissa, here is a "wild card."  In 2012, your humble servant here visited with a war planner from the US Naval War College in Providence, R.I.  He asked the planner what his top-secret "think tank" is doing; he answered, "Forecasting how this country would support the government of Mexico against the drug cartels there."  Here is a wild card:  war with, in Mexico!   Nobody is thinking about this in the mainline media; it is not hard to imagine (futuring word there) a scenario (futuring word there) in which the government of Mexico collapses; rather than risk losing access to oil in Mexico and control of our branch plants there, the US invades and wages war against the cartels to restore control to the government.  Imagine the refugees who would come streaming north if such a "wild card" car erupts!  We would have to restore the draft to increase our troop strength.  Likely, we would face drug cartel terrorism in our urban centers or elsewhere.  It is not hard to imagine (futuring again) the existence of sleeper cells of drug cartel sponsored terrorists in this country right now waiting for the word to strike if this "wild card" comes into play.  Yes, this is also "insider" information, which this writer obtained through networking with professional futurists at the World Future Society Conference in Toronto in 2012.  Wild cards and networking count!  Dr. Rux
