Demise of Europe and Rise of South America

What intrigues me is the demise of Europe.  I like to read strategic foresight books, and Ralph Peters wrote Future Glory, an amazing analysis of the future trends that ought to shape our economic, political, military, etc. policies.  In two words, he sums up our future if we want it to be peaceful, prosperous.  "Look south."  South America is our future, not Europe, which is exhausted.  South America offers the resources, markets, and workers and brainpower that we need to go forward.  Yes, it is hard for us who grew up with European ancestry to shed this bias toward the "old country," but if we want to win, we must.
