Future of Workforce Development

Shaun, this writer serves on the state board for NFIB (National Federation of Indepentdent Business) / Wisconsin. It has 13,500 small business members in our state! NFIB/National is the tenth most powerful lobby in Washington, DC! At our last quarterly meeting, one of the board members lamented about not being able to find reliable employees. He blamed the lax tech colleges here. This writer made the following trend forecast for the board: We are looking at the very real possibility of using German-style apprenticeships more and more as the way to train, educate a competent, reliable workforce, not prolonged adolescent schooling. Nobody disputed the probability of such an option!
