Institutional Failure Encore

Dave, the current news about General Betray-us Petraus is more than comic. It is toxic. The U.S. is lurching toward institutional failure. The US Congress already held in utter contempt, with an approval rating of 10%, like the Wall Street vampires and their entourage. Traditionally, the military has been held in esteem as being above the crime family activities that pass for politics, government in this much abused country. Now, the Betray-us/Petraus affair will weaken public confidence in a key, core institution - the military. This is dangerous. This kind of loss of confidence, turst, and, yes, respect can only put us at more risk for institutional failure. Don't forget, Petraus rose to the top with the backing of the Bush Crime Family. He has GOP links; there has been talk of him being another Eisenhower to rise above sordid politics to put country first. Yes, I know of Ike's wartime adultery. However, this knocks Petraus out of the running as did the Hurricane of bimbos sink Herman Cain earlier this year. Waiting in the wings is Jeb Bush, the return of the Bush Crime Family - over the body now of Petraus. He had to go, but the nature of his going puts all of us at even greater risk, for it undermines confidence of people again in a key institution of this, or any, country.
