Brian, yes, your humble servant here has been teaching online since 1999. Over this expanse of time, he has come to realize why more and more students cannot honor the fixed-time, fixed-place approach. We have entirely too many demands on our time. This is one of the reasons why I no longer want to be onsite in a classroom. By the time I drive there and back, I could have taught another online course - in that drive time! Yes, online learning is a huge step into the future; I am glad to have been involved with it almost at the start.
