Polling

Polling and risk management - and their techniques - are the "stuff" of trend forecasting.  For instance, while we were in Florida earlier this year, your humble servant here found a book by the famed pollster John Zogby.  Its title is How We Will Be.  Its publication date is 2008.  It is one of the best books on futuring your humble servant has ever read, and he has read many over the years.  Zogby uses polling data to forecast key trends.  For instance, he says his polling shows that more and more people are rejecting the fake, phony, fraud impact of Hollywood media on affairs, at least in the USA.  He detects a movement toward "authentic."  More and more Americans are starting to value "authenticity" as the antidote to the poison of mass media propaganda and hype.  It is safe to say other countries suffer from mass media hype and likely sooner or later will follow this trend too.
