Religious Revival

Marta, here is another observation about trends in religion from the World Future Society 2013 Chicago Conference.  What I shared before came from the workshop on religious trends.  What follows comes from the workshop on trends in the workplace.  The speaker pointed out that motivation more and more for people would come from religion, not money or politics.  The reason is more and more people perceive political and economic systems as hostile, not friendly.  It is hard to love what exploits us.  Enter religion.  It is interesting to hear this at a world conference from a person who works in the field of human resource management, not religion.  I believe America is moving toward a religious revival.  It has happened before in our history, e.g. what we call “The Great Awakening” in the 1700’s.  As Americans face political and economic institutional failure, they will most likely turn to religion as a source of comfort, safety, and meaning.  This, of course, is healthy, in the opinion of this writer.  I do not know what trends are in your country; they may be similar.  Dr. Rux
