Coaching and Innovation

Innovation will remain a driving value as we move forward.  In fact, your humble servant here believes fostering, nurturing innovative, creative individuals in the workplace will replace the old Industrial Age model of teamwork, which has legitimate roots in assembly lines.  Now robots will replace more and more the drudge workers, and what will hold most value for employers will be those talented individuals who can provide new insights, foresight (trend forecasting there) for us.  This will result in coaching and mentoring as the prize skills for leaders, managers, not being team leaders, although, of course, coordination remains a need.  At the WFS conference, your humble servant had two offers to interview to be a planning coach with organizations that apply trend forecasting to management training!  So, the presence of coaching recruiters at a World Future Society conference is a powerful signal of coaching and mentoring as a powerful future trend!
