Radical Versus Incremental Change

Yes, the power of learning through success applies also to your situation.  You are "eyes wide open" to see how you can apply this technique in your workplace.  Go for it!  In his Ph.D. studies, your humble servant here learned about two styles of change:  1) incremental (little steps) and 2) root-branch (huge steps).  Studies show incremental statistically is what occurs.  Consider Obamacare.  It is a "baby step" toward Canadian-style "single-pay" healthcare.  Part of the frustration is it is not decisive, one way or the other.  It is incremental, which means it has not really changed the basic structures of the healthcare system, which push back against all or some of its proposals.  This insight is not to introduce politics here; rather, it is an example of how we cannot expect "root-branch" change as a rule, which leaves persons on both sides of an issue frustrated often.  Your workplace shares in this kind of change dynamic, incremental versus radical.  Welcome to the real world!   Dr. Rux
